Born in Mexico City, Roberto studied Classical Guitar at the National Music Conservatory of Mexico. Currently he is pursuing his MA in Music Performance at Hunter College/CUNY. He has taken master classes with Douglas Lora, Hopkinson Smith, Gonzalo Salazar, Iván Rijos, and Sante Tursi.

Roberto has played at Hunter College/CUNY, Baruch College/CUNY, in festivals like II International Puebla Festival, Cervantes por Todas Partes, La Guitarra Hoy. He also played with OFUNAM, OTBA, OSIPN, OSN, among other well known orchestras in Mexico City.
